Poet and literature researcher (b. 1955, Büyük Döllük village / Edirne). He attended primary and elementary school in Edirne. He graduated from Edirne İmam Hatip High School (1974) and Erzurum Atatürk University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1979). With his “Odes in Turkish Literature” thesis, he finished his graduate studies (1987) and his doctorate studies with his research and reviewed text in the work “Latifi/ Biography of Poets” (1992). He transferred to university after he served as a teacher of Turkish Language and Literature at Erzurum Tortum High School between the years 1980 and 1985. Since 1985, he has been a university lecturer at Atatürk University, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Turkish Education Department.
His first poem “Bizim Olmayan Eller” (Hands not Belonging to Us) was published in the review Mina (Erzurum, 1989, Volume: 5-6). His first article Edirne Şairleri 1. Sâgâri (Edirne Poets 1st Perception of Divine Truth) was published in the review Boğaziçi (İstanbul, 1986, vol.50). His other poems and articles have been published in reviews such as: Kardelen, Dolunay, Millî Eğitim, Ayane, Akademik Yorum, Türk Edebiyatı, Yenişehir Sanat, Türk Kültürü, G.Ü. Fen-Edebiyat Fak. Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi, Şahdamar, Genç Erdem, Kitaplık, Cogito, Türk Dünyası, Yedi İkli, Millî Kültür, Oluşum, Kalem ve Onur, Palandöken, İslâmî Edebiyat, Kayıtlar, Kadın Aile, Mina, Merih and Dergâh.
He has visited many countries for travel, research and scientific activities such as Hungary, Macedonia, Kosovo, Romania, Moldova, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Georgia. He has presented communiqués while participating in symposiums related to his field. His work, Şehir ve İnsan (City and Man) in which he wrote about his travels, won the award of the Writers Union of Turkey Travel Section. He is a member of Writers Union of Turkey.
