Researcher and writer (b. 21 September 1941,

She has still been working as lecturer in
İstanbul University, Faculty of Politics. The articles on religion and politics
of Vergin, who is a member of various international social sciences
associations, were published in the newspaper Yeni Yüzyıl and other reviews.
She refutes the thesis that “the change in social science is very slow” in her
book Siyasetin
Sosyolojisi (Sociology of
Politics). She argues out the events occurred after 1980 like collapse of
Soviet Union, high increase in the international migration, ethnic wars and
globalizating economy, against the opinion that the knowledge is not renovated
frequently like in medicine or engineering sciences. She handled the
works of new searches like Habermas, Foucault, Mouffe, in addition to the theorists
of classical sociology of politics in Siyasetin
Sosyolojisi (Sociology of
Politics).
