Statesman (B. 1872, Diyarbakir-
D. February 24, 1941). He completed his education in Diyarbakir
Military High
School, Tribe School, Istanbul
Mekteb-i Mülkiye-i Şâhâne (1897). In 1898, he began
to work as Assistant Officer in Diyarbakir
Province. After
completing his apprenticeship, he became a district governor. Starting from
1899, he worked as the district governor in Siverek, Avniye, Midyat, Cizre,
Nusaybin, Derik (twice), Erve, Mutki, Beşiri (twice), Pazar, Resulayn, Reşadiye
and finally in Mülkiye, and then he got retired. He settled in to his hometown Diyarbakir, published
writings in local newspapers. He worked as the vice mayor in Diyarbakir, became member of Municipality and
Provincial Assembly. His son Fikret Asena has worked as a lawyer.
Altough, A.
Cemil Asena has not got published work, he gives very important information
about Gökalp as his childhood friend, in his unpublished work Ziya Gökalp.
