Journalist and writer (b. 24 August
1960, İstanbul). She attended Maçka Primary School (1971) and graduated from
the English Secondary School for Girls (1976), Robert College (1979) and
Boğaziçi University, Department of Psychology (1983). For a while, she worked
as a text writer for advertisements and worked at Channel Six TV and at the
Turkish Radio and Television Corporation’s Channel Two. She was one of the
popular writers of the 90s with her columns in Radikal newspaper, where she has worked as a columnist since 1997.
She traveled to different countries in Asia for two years. She has lived in
Tokyo and New York. She is a member of the Association of Turkish PEN Writers and the Turkish Authors
Association. Her first poem named Zenciyse Yürek (If the
Heart is Black) was
published in the review Felsefe. Her
other poems have been published in the reviews Beyaz, Sombahar and Oluşum.
