Poet
and writer (b. 2 September 1934, Elazığ). He graduated from Elazığ High School
(1953) and Istanbul University, Faculty of Forestry (1963). He completed his
post-graduation in Vienna University (1969-70). He became assistant professor in
Karlsruhe School of Peoples. He worked as erosion engineer in the General Directorate of State Waterworks
(1966-72), as assistant of department chief in Germany Holzindustirie Bruchsol
(1972-74), as local secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Karlsruhe
Embassy (1974-1999) and then retired. He continued his works in the last city
that he worked.
His first poem “Serçe”
(Sparrow) was published in the review Varlık
in January 1956. Later, his poems and articles were published in the
reviews Kıyı, Varlık, Türk Sanatı (1957-60),
Türk Düşüncesi (1957-60), Yeditepe (1958-70), Karşı (1988-96), Karşı
Edebiyat, Türk Dili, Çağdaş Türk Dili, Güzel Yazılar. He received the Örsan
Öymen Interview Award with his interview titled Sibel (Sibel) in 1991, the Vedat Güler Poetry Award with Kehribar ve Tuğra (Amber and Seal) in
1993. He is a member of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey and the Turkish Authors
Association.
