Academician, art historian. He was born on 20 March
1975 in Kulp district of Diyarbakır. After finishing Düzpelit Village Primary
School (1985) in Kulp district, he graduated from Kulp High School in 1992. In
1995, he graduated from Yüzüncü Yıl University Ahlat Vocational School
Restoration Programming Department with first place. In 1998, he completed his
undergraduate education (BA) at Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Arts and
Sciences, Department of Art History with first rank. In 1998, he was appointed
to the Ministry of Education as a form teacher. He worked as a form master and
a school principal in various schools.
He took his master degree (MA) from Department of
General Art History - Institute of Social Sciences at Yüzüncü Yıl University in
2003. In 2008, he got his title of “Dr” after completing his PhD from the Institute of Social Sciences in the
Department of General Art History at the Yüzüncü Yıl University. In 2009, he
was appointed as Assistant Professor to Ziya Gökalp Education Faculty Fine Arts
Education Department in the Dicle University. He was at the University of North
Texas in the United States for 3 months for research and investigation in 2011.
He received the title of Associate Professor in 2012 and he became a Professor
in 2018. Yıldız still continues to work as an Art Historian professor at the
same university, is also the Head of the Excavation at the Diyarbakır İç Kale
Amida Höyük Artuklu Palace. Yıldız is married and has two children. Irfan
Yıldız, who has worked in various non-governmental organizations, is also the
President of the Diyarbakır Academic Thinking and Research Association (Diyarbakır Akademik Düşünce ve Araştırma
Derneği).
Irfan Yıldız has many published articles, papers,
encyclopedia articles and books. As well as printed copyright books and
co-printed books, he is the author of the chapter in many books. Since 2007, Prof.
Dr. İrfan Yıldız has published his articles in the Journal of Turkic World
Researches, Turkish Studies, Atatürk University Journal of Institute of Fine
Arts, Yüzüncü Yıl University the Journal of Social Sciences Institute and “Mukaddime”
Mardin Artuklu University Social
