Saz poet (his birth date is unknown).
It is supposed that he died in Niksar in 1854. He took a madrasah education in
Erzurum. He interested in mysticism and was connected the Halidî branch of
Nakşibendi*. He traveled around Sivas, Kastamonu, Konya, Niğde and surroundings
as a wanderer bard. His works including the divan* forms that were written in
prosodic meter were not found valuable but only poems that were influenced by
Baki and Nedim. His poetry in syllabic meter (koşma, semai, etc.) was
appreciated widely. His Divan* consisting
of his poetry was written in prosodic meter was published by Abdülaziz of
Erzurum in 1913.
