Born in Erzincan in 1967. He graduated from Üsküdar Imam Hatip High School in 1985 and the Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 1989. He attended the master’s degree program at the Department of Islamic Jurisprudence, Programme in Basic Islamic Studies in Marmara University the same year.
In
1992, he completed his master’s degree with his thesis under the title of “Legal scholars (fagihs) in in the during rising of Great Seljuk Period
(1063-1092)”.
In
1998, he became a doctor of science in the Department
of Islamic Jurisprudence at Marmara University Graduate School of Social
Sciences with his comparative study titled “Crime
and penalty of theft in the Ottoman Empire during 17th and 18th centuries”.
He
served as Imam Hatip (Imam-Preacher) in
İstanbul between 1990 and 2002 and gave lectures on religious culture and
ethical knowledge and also vocational courses in Imam-Hatip High Schools.
He
was appointed as an expert to the High
Board of Religious Affairs of the Presidency of Religious Affairs in 2002
and as the Director of the Department of
Religious Publications in 2004.
In
2010, he was appointed as the Head Of
Information Technologies (IT) Department.
In
2018, he was appointed as Presidential
Advisory in Presidency of Religious Affairs.
He
has books titled: “ Zindaqa in the Ottoman society”, “Substance abuse”, “ Love of Ahl al-Bayt”, “The Prophet of Mercy”, “ Oh, gossiping!” ,
“Erzincan's Kemah’s
sciencists”, and
articles such as “Religion,” “Religious
Publishing”, “Relationship of Religion and Media”, as well as other articles,
statements and debates published in our country and also abroad in other
languages.
He
has been serving as the Presidential
Advisory of the Presidency of Religious Affairs since 2018. He speaks
Arabic and English.
