Poet and author. Born on
May 13, 1954 in Erzurum.
She graduated from Erzurum Teachers’ School. She completed the associate degree
at Anadolu University, Faculty of Education. She
worked as Turkish-Literature teacher in Içel, Erzurum
and Istanbul
and retired (1995). Then she worked as a manager at private teaching
institutions in Istanbul,
head of Turkish department, as a teacher and text writer. Then she continued
her work in Izmir.
She is the member of Literati Union, BESAM and Writers’ Trade Union of Turkey.
Her poems, stories and
essays were published in journals such as Varlık, Çalı, Kıyı, Akdeniz Sanat,
Damar, Berfin Bahar, İskenderiye Yazıları, Akköy, Beşparmak, Şiir Defteri, Çığ (Yugoslavia), Edebiyat
Güncesi, Kedi, Edebiyat Gündemi, İlkyaz, Öğretmen Dünyası, Papirüs, Armağan,
İzmir İzmir, Tömer Dil Dergisi, Dize, Agora, Mum, İnsancıl and other
journals. She has received the first place for twice (1985 and 1986) and third
place once (1992) in the contests among teachers implemented by Ministry of
Education, the first place on Social Branch in Nahit Övünç Poetry Contest (1993),
first place in the poetry contest of Aykırısanat journal (2002), special prize
in the First Necati Cumalı Poetry Contest (2002) and honorable mentions in
Benekli Turgut and 2002 Mevlüt Kaplan Novel Prize. Her poems were translated
and published in Persian, English, French and Greek.
