Poet and writer (b. 1954, Ermişli village / Arguvan / Malatya). She graduated from Fenerbahçe High School (1970) and later from the İstanbul University School of Foreign Languages, Department of German (1978). Beginning in 1978, she worked as a teacher and headmistress at several elementary level schools in İstanbul and she retired in 1997.

Her poems, translations of poems from German literature (from Erich Fried, G. Hauptmann, G. Trakl, Ulla Ilahn) and analyses of poems have been published in the reviews Yansıma, Varlık, Damar, Gösteri, Evrensel Kültür, Kalender since 1971. She was the general secretary of the Association of Turkish PEN Writers from 1999 to 2001. She is still a member of the administrative board of the Association of Writers of Literary and Scientific Works and the Writers Syndicate of Turkey. Her book Suskun Resimler Durağı (Stop of the Silent Pictures) was considered praiseworthy at the Behçet Aysan Poetry Award and she collected the Orhon Murat Award in 2004 with Deli Bal (Crazy Honey).
