Poet and writer (b. 14 June
1945, Siverek / Şanlıurfa - 26 February 2020, Ankara). After attending Erzincan Military School for a
while, he graduated from Diyarbakır Ziya Gökalp High School. He graduated from
Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of
Persian. He worked as a civil servant and as cameraman for the Turkish Radio
and Television Corporation where he also prepared documentaries. He retired in
1997.
His first poem was published in the review Türk Yurdu, his other poems, short stories and translations have been published in
the reviews Edebiyat, Gelişme,
Mavera, Seyir (Van), Yönelişler, Ay
Vakti, Yedi İklim and Hece, his study articles have been published in
the review Hece and in the annuals of the Writers Union of
Turkey. He developed a style of observing contemporary life and searching for
the position of people in that life with a technique similar to Folk and Divan*
poetry. He wrote few but skillful poems. He is a member of the Writers Union of
Turkey.
