Novelist (b. 1948, İzmir). He attended the İzmir Primary Education College, and graduated from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering (1971). He worked as a civil engineer at the State Water Works, the Tourism Bank and at a private company.

He shared the first rank award at the Milliyet Novel Contest in 1978 with Orhan Pamuk, with his novel Issızlığın Ortasında (In the Midst of Isolation). He also collected the Madaralı Novel Award in 1985 with the same work and the Orhan Kemal Novel Award in 1985 with Geç Kalmış Ölü (The Delayed Dead), which was the continued story of the previous book. He reflected various situations of humanity by creating anti-heroes, but not concealing his political point of view.
