Poet (b. 1570, İstanbul – d. 30 March 1631). His real
name was Azmîzâde Mustafa Haletî. He was educated at Madrasah Muslim School and
he became a Madrasah teacher when he was 27. He worked as a Muslim judge in
various cities and as the Chief Military Judge in Anatolia and Rumelia. With
his skillfully written quatrains, even famous poets such as Nedim admired him.
Haletî, whose life was a topic in the play called Hâlet (Condition) by Reşat Nuri Darago,
wrote his Divan*, Sakiname (Salutation Odes), Münşeât (Writing), Pendname (Book of Advice) and works on Islamic Law.
