Poet (b. 1930, Kilis - d. 25 May 2002, United States). After he graduated from Ankara University, Veterinary Faculty (1955) he worked as a veterinary in Kilis that he went to America.

Başçıllar wrote with the influence of Orhan Veli and Necip Fazıl in his first poems and with his poems published after 1960 in the journals Hisar, Türk Dili, Yeditepe, Papirüs, Sanat Olayı he became one of the poets of the “Second New Movement”.
