Poet (b.
1910, Çorlu / Tekirdağ - d. 9 January 1976, Bursa). After graduating from
Edirne Agriculture School, he worked as a teacher in different cities, as a shrine guardian and as clerk at the library and museum in Bursa, as a clerk in
the museum in Niğde and he retired in 1969 while he was a teacher in Bursa.
His poems
were published in the reviews Orhun,
Tanrıdağ, Çınaraltı, Yeni Gün, Türkeli, Orkun, Aras and Gurbet. He became famous for his poems in which he featured the
sentiments of nationalism especially with Türk Millî Destanı: Oğuzlama (Turkish National Epic: Oghuzlama) and Oğuzname (Book of Oghuz), which was a
national epic essay of more than 10.000 lines and with which he won the award
of Turkish Language Association in 1944. He
is buried in Bursa Emir Sultan Graveyard.
