Poet (b. 1948, Üsküdar / İstanbul).  He received his primary education in Yalova where he lived in his childhood and attended Haydarpaşa High School.  After graduating from Istanbul University, School of Pharmacology (1971), he worked as pharmacist in Yalova.  He directed Bindirbirek Publications, which he established in İstanbul (1978). After working as a bookseller in Galatasaray, he returned to pharmacology (2003).

His first poem was published in the journal Deneme in Eskişehir (1972).  He did translations for the journal Diriliş from English, American, African and Indonesian poets. He is known for his poems, articles and translations published in the journals Gelişme, Edebiyat, Diriliş, Yedi İklim.  In 2004 he received the Poetry Book of the Year Award given by the Writers Union of Turkey with his book Çocuğun Miracı (The Child’s Miraculous Journey to Heaven).
