Poet and author (B. December 25, 1905 Eceabat / Çanakkale – D. May 24, 1973, Istanbul). He graduated from Istanbul Veterinary Higher School (1925). He has completed his doctoral degree in Germany where he stayed for four years. He became a professor at Ankara University, Veterinary Faculty and retired from there (1969).
Batu was a deputy between 1942 and 1946 and he published Sanat ve Edebiyat Gazetesi in Ankara with Suut Kemal Yetkin (1947). He was known with his works regarding Ancient Greek Tragedy, which were translated into foreign languages and staged. His play named Güzel Helena which was translated into German and played at Vienna State Theater (1959) has received the second degree in Bregenz International Theatre Works Contest.
