Poet and writer (b. 11 September 1922, Üsküdar / İstanbul). He is the elderly brother of journalist-writer Nusret Otyam. He attended the Aksaray Cumhuriyet Primary School (1934), Aksaray Elementary School (1937), Konya High School (1940), and graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pharmacy (1946). Between 1946 and 1960 he ran the Aksaray (Niğde) People Pharmacy, and between 1960 and 1983 the Demirtepe Pharmacy in Ankara. He is a member of Turkish Authors Association.

He published his first poem titled “Bir Yolcuya” (To A Pessenger) in the review Yedigün in 1938. His other works appeared in the reviews, Devrim (Konya, 1940), Yeni Edebiyat (1940-42), İnkılapçı Gençlik, Yaratış, Servet-i Fünûn (Uyanış), Varlık, Yeditepe, Kaynak, Yağmur ve Toprak, Türkiye Yazıları, Sesimiz, Oluşum, Karşı, Özün, Kıyı and in the newspapers Yenigün, Barış, Yeni İstanbul, Cumhuriyet and Dünya.

PLAY: Kavga (The Fight, 1943), Ay Uzak Değil (The Moon Is Not Far Away, 1967).

SHORT STORY: Ölüm Çemberi (The Death Circle / serialized in the newspaper Yenigün in 1962; expanded edition published in 1983).

ESSAY-CRITICISM: Ar Düşü (Dream of Grace, 1965).

POETRY: Barış Güncesi (Diary of Peace, 1963), Truva'nın Kırılası Elleri (The Hands of Troy Wished to Be Broken, 1988), Suyüzü (The Face of Water, 1997).
