
M. Şerafeddin Yaltkaya
Islamic scholar (B. 1879, Istanbul- D. April 23, 1947). He became a hafız after his primary school education and he graduated from Davutpaşa Secondary School and Darü’l Teaching School. He attended to Mosque lessons. He learned interpretation from Manastirli Ismail Hakki Bey and Makalat from Şirvanli Halis Efendi. In 1909, he started to teach at the school named Dârü’l İlm vet’Ta’lim in Arabic. He taught religious courses in several schools. He became the Kelam History teacher Darulfunun Faculty of Theology in 1924; then emeritus professor of Islam and Islamic philosophy. He became the head of Religious Affairs Institution in 1942. He was the second President of Religious Affairs Institution. He died on his duty. He has more than sixty works. His several articles were published in journals such as Sebilü’rreşat, Beyan’ül’hak, Mihrab, İlâhiyat, İslâm.
