Saz poet (b. ?, d. ?). He is the hero of the folk tale Emrah and Selvi. He followed his beloved Selvi who was captured from Van, the city that was besieged by Shah Abbas (1586- 1628) during Ottoman-Iran war. After many adventures, he meets his lover. It is suggested that the poetry of Emrah of Erciş and that of Emrah of Erzurum is being confused and the poems that are known to be written by Emrah of Erzurum are actually the works of Emrah of Erciş.
