Author. There is no sufficient information about his life. He lived during the Tanzimat era. His story book Müsâmeretnâme (1871, 1872, 1873, 1875) which consists of twelve volumes is considered as the first piece in Turkish literature as a story. The simplified version of Müsâmeretnâme was published under the name Gece Hikâyeleri (Tercüman 1001 Temel Eser dizisi, 1973). Müsâmeretnâme means “night meetings” and it is formed by a group of friends telling each other stories. P. N. Boratav compares them with Decameron; Tanpınar compares with eastern narration traditions; and Cevdet Kudret considers those as a mixture of east and west.
