Story writer and researcher (b. 1956, Bürtlüce village / Kula / Manisa). He graduated from Manisa High School (1974) and İstanbul University, the Faculty of Letters, Department of Turkish Language and Literature in 1978. His master’s thesis was on “Yahya Kemal ve Millî Mücadele Basını” (Yahya Kemal and Press of National Struggle - 1982) his PhD thesis “Mütâreke ve Millî Mücadele Dönemi Edebiyat Dergilerinde Edebî Tenkit” (Literary Critic in the Literary Magazines of the Armistice and National Struggle Period – 2000). He worked as a civil servant at Sümerbank (1977-85), manager at private corporations (1985-90) and as a teacher (1990-93). He is still a member of Turkish Religious Foundation Islamic Encyclopedia, Central Science and Redaction Committee and working as an academician at Sakarya University.
He started his literary career with his poetry that was published in the newspaper Hür Işık (Manisa) in 1973. His work including mainly essays and critics was published in the reviews Mavera (1980-86), Yönelişler (1990), Yedi İklim (1987), İzlenim (1993), Matbuat (1993), İlmî Araştırmalar (1996), Kaşgar (1998), Kayıtlar and Kitap-lık. He undertook the editorship of the review Mavera for a time (1985-86). He was one of the founders of the review Yedi İklim with his three friends in February 1987. He won the Writers Union of Turkey Critic Award with his work Bir Duyarlığın Çağdaş Biçimleri (Modern Forms of Sensitivity) in 1985. As well as his writing work, he continued his scientific researches. He published his scientific researches in the scientific reviews such as İlmî Araştırmalar, Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Dergisi and Journal of Turkish Studies / Türklük Bilgisi Araştırmaları. He wrote nearly thirty articles on his field for the Turkish Religious Foundation, Islamic Encyclopedia and was editor of many articles in this encyclopedia.
