
Ali Rıza Ertan
Poet (b. 10 June 1944, Aydın - d. 12 February 1979, İzmir). He attended primary and elementary school in his hometown. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1967). He worked as a teacher of literature in several schools, lastly in Buca High School. He died from food poisoning when he was thirty-five years old. Since his death, a poetry prize has been given in his name. His articles and poems were published in the reviews Aydın Gazetesi (1960), Sosyal Demokrat (İzmir), Soyut (1967), Yansıma, Yeni Dergi (1973-74), and Dönemeç (founder and publishing consultant, 1976-78).
