Poet and playwriter (b. 1949, Ernazar
Village, Taldı Kurgan, Kazakhstan). He is a Balkar poet, he was born in exile.
He returned to his homeland in 1958. After graduating from high school in 2.
Çegem, he worked as tourism and mountaineering guide around the Elbruz
Mountain. He graduated from Moscow Maxim Gorky Institute of Literature by
correspondence course. His poems, children poems and drama works were published
in the reviews, newspapers and radio and television. He translated poems of
Omar Khayyam and Japanese poet İsikova Takuboku into Balkar language.
M. Ölmezov has been working as the
authorized secretary in the review Mingi
Tau. He received the Kabardino-Balkar Republic State Award together with
Balkar Theatre with his play Goşayah
Bihçe (Princess Goşayah) in 2001. He is a member of the Writers Union of
Russia.
