Journalist, writer. He was born in Ankara on May 8, 1943. He graduated from TED Ankara
College and Economy
Faculty and he studied his master on mass communication. In 1962, when he was
working in “İleri” newspaper,
was published in Antalya,
he started to work at TRT in 1966, he prepared many television news programs
and he worked there until 1980. In 1974, he worked as TRT reporter in Cyprus
Peace Operation. He was rewarded as “Veteran” title by government because he received
the title of “War Journalist”. His writings about Cyprus Peace Operation were
published in newspapers and magazines. He attended to many courses, seminars
and international meetings on behalf of TRT Institution. He prepared some
booklets for the “in-service trainings” which were organized for TRT reporters,
directed many educational practices. He gave radio-TV journalism and TV
production techniques lectures in Anadolu
University Press
Vocational School; he worked as
visiting lecturer in Gazi
University.
Selim Esen was assigned to Radio and Television High Council in 1989.
When he was working here he was sent to USA and in August 1992 he got
retired from RTHC. At the same time he began to work in Anadolu Agency and
after he left his duty here in November 1993 he began to work as advisor for
different press organizations. For two years, he was the owner and chief writer
of “İlk Hedef”magazine, which was the press organ of Turkey Veterans
Foundation and he was the general president of this foundation. He is a member
of Press Council, Turkey Journalists Society, Parliament Reporters Association
Man of Letters Association and Contemporary Journalists Association and he has
veteran identity and “permanent pres card”. Esen has many radio and television
programs, he took in charge in “Journey to Tales and Poem in Kuşadası” activities
in Kuşadası since 2004 and prepared activity books with the same title.
