Journalist, sports
writer. He was born in May 12, 1947, Skopje,
Macedonia. He
moved to Turkey
in 1955. He also used Taner Tanaltay and Sabri Sami Sevengil signatures in his
writings. He was graduated from Pertevniyal
High School. In 1965, he
worked as the editorial director (only first six issues) of Yeni Çığır
Edebiyat magazine. He began with
his journalism career in 1966. His first news was the “2 Başbakanın
kaderi” titled article, which was published in April 1966 in Babıali’de
Sabah newspaper. He worked in Babıali’de
Sabah, Yeni İstanbul, Günaydın, Tercüman, Güneş, Türkiye, Star newspapers.
He worked as sports commentator in KANAL D during the 1994 Football season
(1994), two years in TGRT Telemaç Show (1996-98), in KANAL D trio show with İlker
Yasin and Rıdvan Dilmen (1999), in STAR TV Telegol Show for two seasons
(2001-2002). His opinions about “Anatolian Football” took attention countrywide
in Turkey.
He attended
approximately to twenty-five panels, conferences and seminars in universities. He
attended various sports commentary shows on television channels. He
participated in “Sports Medicine” Education courses of Turkish Medical
Association. He submitted a scientific paper during the Diabetes Days which was
organized by six different universities in Ankara. His paper “How Turkish Sportsmen are Nourished”
took place among the university publications. Also his work titled as “Sex in
Turkish Sports” was submitted as scientific paper by Dr. Haydar Dümen in
Neuropsychology congress in Bursa.
A team of eleven people in Erzurum
University analyzed all
his writings during the five years period and prepared a “Turkish Sports
Profile”. He was chosen as “Communicator
of the Year” by the students of Istanbul University Faculty of Communication.
He received the “Journalist of the Year” award eleven times by the Turkish
Journalists Society, Turkish Sports Writers Association and various publication
organizations. He holds totally 28 awards. He is married with Leman Alkış and is
the father of two, named Dilek Keçeli and Erman Alkış.
