Poet (b. 1958, Ankara). After
completing his secondary education, he left school and worked in various jobs.
He attended to the evening classes at a high school in Ankara in 1980, and
graduated from the Gazi High Teacher Training School, Department of Turkish
Language and Literature. His poems were published in the reviews Militan,
Doğrultu, Dönemeç, Türk Dili, Sanat Emeği, Yusufçuk after 1975. He received
the Behçet Necatigil Poetry Award with his book Alacakaranlıktaki Ülke
(The Country in Twilight) in 1981, the Yunus Nadi Poetry Award with his book Deniz
Unutma Adımı (Oh Sea, Do Not Forget My Name) in 1992, and the same award in 2004 with Kaybolmuş Bir Köpek İlânı (An Announcement for a
Missing Dog).
