Poet
(b. 1 January 1956, Balıkesir). He completed his secondary school education in
his native region (1973). He graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Law
(1979). After serving as lawyer for a short time, he worked as technical secretary,
corrector and redactor in the reviews and newspapers. His poems were published
in the reviews Türkiye Yazıları, Sanat
Emeği (editor-in chief, 1978) since 1977. Fişekçi, who has been writing for
the newspaper Cumhuriyet since 1996, serves as the editor-in chief of
the review Adam Sanat.
He
received the 1981 Akademi Poetry Achievement Award which he shared with
Murathan Mungan and Ozan Telli, with his first book Karda Işıltılar (Glints on
the Snow). He collected the 1999 Behçet Necatigil Poetry Award with Sevgi Bağları (Ties of Love), 2002 Behçet Aysan Award with Dip Sevgi (Deep Love) and 2003 Ceyhun Atuf Kansu Poetry Award with Kumral
Gökkuşağı (Brown Rainbow).
