Poet (b. 7 September 1953). He
graduated from Yozgat High School and Ankara Gazi Institute of Education,
Department of Social Sciences (1978). He worked as a civil servant and as a
manager at the Agricultural Products Office. He retired in 1998.
His first poem was published in the
February 1978 issue of the review Varlık.
His other poems have been published in reviews such as Varlık, Türkiye Yazıları, Dönemeç, Yeni Düşün, Gösteri, Oluşum, Bir
Yeni Biçem, Yaba and Yarın
(editorial board member). He received the 1987 Ceyhun Atuf Kansu Poetry Award
with his book Yolculuk (The Voyage)
and the 1996 Orhon Murat Arıburnu Poetry Award with Dicle Üstü Ay Bulanık (The Moon is Blurry Above the Tigris). He is
a member of the Turkish Authors Association (chairman for a period).
