Poet
and writer (b. 1 February 1962, Oğlakkaya village / Bulanık / Muş). He is son
of religious scholar Mehmet Arif Karakaya who was known with name Molla Arif.
He started his primary education at Muş Korkut Boarding Primary School and completed
at Beykoz Ortaçeşme Hacı Numan Primary School in İstanbul. He started his
elementary education at Fevzi Çakmak Elementary School and continued his
elementary education at Muş and Fenerbahçe Ferit İnal High Schools and
completed at Patnos High School (1980). He worked as a director and even a
carrier in Cağaloğlu. He was editor in chief in the review Mavera in 1988 and was the publication director of the review Dâvâ that he was one of the founders. He
worked in the review Meydan for a
little time (1990).
He
found the review Kardelen with his
friends in İstanbul and published it for four years. He moved to Van in 1995.
He was one of the founders of the weekly newspapers Anadolu’nun Sesi and Gündemde
Van in Van. He published the review Hazan
(Van, 1990-91, 13 issues) with his friends. He published his other poetry
in the reviews such as Mavera (1988),
Dâvâ (1989), Bu Meydan (1990), Kardelen
(1990-92) and Hazan. He is working as
a Press-Publication Advisor of the Van Municipality since 1995 as well as his
office at the local newspaper Şark
Yıldızı as an editor-in-chief.
