Poet
(b. 1862, Adana - d. 1902, İstanbul). He is a graduate of the School of
Politics (1883). He worked as an instructional manager and a teacher in Adana
and İzmir, and at the School of Politics and at İstanbul University he worked
as a literature teacher. He published the articles of Namık Kemal, Abdülhak
Hamid and Recaizade Ekrem in his own magazine Gayret. His poetry book Elhan
(Melodies) initiated a significant literary discussion at the time. When
Recaizade Ekrem wrote the book Elhan-ı
Şita (Melody of Winter) criticizing the book mentioned above
(1886), Muallim Naci published in response, Demdeme
(Enraged, 1887).
