Writer (b. 28 March 1920,
Geneva / Switzerland). He is the son of Suphi İleri. He graduated from
Haydarpaşa High School (1939), İstanbul University, Faculty of Science,
Department of Mathematics (1943). He worked as a teacher for a while at
secondary schools in İstanbul. He was a member of the executive board of the
Turkish Workers Party.
He
published his articles in Servet-i Fünûn, Yeni Adam, Ses, Gün, Markopaşa,
Geveze, Karanlığa Işık reviews and in the review Emekçi (1965-1966),
of which he was part of the management. He edited the Kurtuluş review,
which Dr. Şefik Hüsnü and his friends had published, in the new alphabet
(1977). He was arrested and discharged a few times because of his book
translations that were seen as contradictory to article 142 of the
constitution.
