Poet (b. 23 April 1952, Hafik / Sivas). He completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. He was retired in 1994, after working as a civil officer in Kayseri and Ankara and as a contracted staff at the Turkish Aeronautical Association. He is a member of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey, the Turkish Authors Association and the PEN Association of Writers.

His first poem, titled “Kırık Dallar” (The Broken Branches) was published in the review Defne (Ankara). His later poems and articles were published in the reviews he published with his friends, such as Ozanca (1976) and Hakimiyet Sanat (1976-80), and in other reviews such as Varlık, Yazko Edebiyat, Adam Sanat, Yeni Biçem, Oluşum, Türkiye Yazıları, Edebiyat ve Eleştiri, Defter and Yasakmeyve. He became the editor-in-chief of the review Şiir Odası, which was published for twelve issues in Ankara. Abdülkadir Budak, who is mentioned among the poets of the 1970’s generation, has tried to relate the problems of the individual to the social ones; and formed an authentic poetry. He collected the Turkish Language Association Award in 1982 with his children’s poetry book titled Bir Gül Çocuk (A Rosy Child); the Ceyhun Atuf Kansu Poetry Award and Orhon Murat Arıburnu Poetry Award in 1994 with his poetry book titled İmzası Gül (Her Sign is Rose); the Halil Kocagöz Poetry Award in 1998 with Aşk Beni Geçer (Love Passes Me).
