Poet and writer (b. 21 January 1958,
İstanbul). He completed his secondary education at Haydarpaşa High School. He
worked at the review Yeni Düşün and
in De Publishing House, Dönemli and Simavi Publications. He was the assistant
editor of the culture and art pages of the newspaper Güneş. He worked as the General Secretary of the Writers Syndicate
of Turkey between 1991 and 1992. He prepared and presented literature programs
for Flash TV, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation’s Channel 2 and
Yeditepe TV. He prepared short story selections on various subjects. He has
been editor-in-chief of the review Varlık
since 1990.
His poems and articles have been
published in the reviews Yeni Olgu,
Varlık, Hürriyet Gösteri, Milliyet Sanat and in the newspapers Güneş and Cumhuriyet. He came first at the 1996 Abdi İpekçi Letter
Competition and won the 1996 Cemal Süreya and the 1997 Yunus Nadi Poetry Award
with his book Geçtiği Her Şeyi Öpüyor
Zaman (Time Kisses Everything It Passes) in 1997.
