Journalist and writer (b. 1942, Ankara). He graduated
from Ankara College and the Middle East Technical University, Faculty of
Administrative Sciences (1965). He started to work at the State Planning
Organization but was dismissed in 1969 by the Undersecretary, Turgut Özal.
Afterwards, he worked at the Ministries of Finance and Commerce, and
Petrochemistry Holding.
He started as a journalist in 1977 at the review Milliyet. He became known for his
interviews and columns that were published in Milliyet and in Hürriyet where he has worked since 1985 and for whom he has conducted interviews
with people who have been at the center of important events in recent Turkish
history witnessed important incidents. These interviews have been published in
book form.
He had come first twice, in 1972 and in 1974, at the
Karacan writing competition held by the newspaper Milliyet before he started in journalism. He has won the Journalist
of the Year awards given by the İstanbul Journalists Association and the Contemporary
Journalists Association. However, he rejected the award given by the Ankara
Journalists Association. He won the Journalists Association Award in 1983 with
