Prof. Dr. Pınar Başer, Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Fen Fakültesi, Fizik Bölümü, Matematiksel Fizik bünyesinde görev yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları: Optik ve Fotonik, Elektriksel ve Manyetik Özellikler, Malzeme Karakterizasyonu, Diferansiyel denklemler, Özel Foksiyonlar, Fizik.
Lisans (Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi, 1995), yüksek lisans (Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi, 2000) ve doktora (Marmara Üniversitesi, 2007) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "Düşük boyutlu sistemlerin elektronik özellik-leri: dış manyetik alan etkisinde Ga1-xAlxAs/GaAs silindirik kuantum telinde hidrojenik safsızlık-lar ve eksitonların bağlanma enerjileri" (2007).
Akademik kayıtlara göre 85 bilimsel yayını bulunmaktadır; bunların 45'i Web of Science dizinlidir. Uluslararası yayın dizinlerinde 50 yayını kayıtlıdır.
