Poet and writer (b. 1904, Amasya - d. 9 May 1998, İstanbul). He graduated from Trabzon Primary Teachers Training School (1924) and İstanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature by passing exams externally (1930). He worked as Turkish teacher in Sinop, Zile (1933) and Develi (1937) Secondary Schools; as literature teacher and manager in Bursa (1942), Bandırma (1953), İstanbul (1964) High Schools. He retired by his request when he was a teacher in Atatürk High School (1969). He was renowned with his researches on folk literature. His poems and articles were published beginning from 1927, first in the review İzler (Trabzon), then Servet-i Fünûn and other reviews.

POETRY: Akşam Şarkıları (Night Songs, 1933), Ilgaz (Ilgaz, 1933), Ömrümden Yapraklar (Foliages from My Life, 1978).

RESEARCH-COLLECTION: Aşık  Sümmani (Aşık Sümmani, 1940), Seyrani (Seyrani, 1943), Dertli (Dertli, 1951), Dadaloğlu (Dadaloğlu, 1958), Köroğlu ve Dadaloğlu (Köroğlu and Dadaloğlu, 1970).
