Poet and translator (b. 29 January 1949, Erzurum). He attended primary and secondary schools in Erzurum and graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Chemistry (1973). He worked at the Ankara Sugar Works for a short time. Later on, he was in business in İstanbul. He also served as the Director of the Foreign Broadcasting Department at TV Channel 7 His first poem appeared in the review Diriliş in 1968. He gained fame with his poems published in the reviews Diriliş, Kriter, Yönelişler, Kelime, Yedi İklim, Kayıtlar, Kaşgar, Le Poète Travaille and Hece. He received the translation award of the Writers Union of Turkey in 1988 with the translation of the poem Siyah Deri Beyaz Maske (Black Leather, White Mask) by Frantz Fanon. He compiled some of his poems in a volume with the title İlk Atlas (First Atlas, 1990). In addition, he has translated many works.
