Writer and poet (b. 12 June 1943, Eskişehir – d. 7 October 2015,
İstanbul). She is Adnan Özyalçıner’s wife. She started her primary education in
Devlet Demiryolları Private Elementary School at second grade, and she
completed this education at Kadımehmet Elementary School (1953). After she
finished Kasımpaşa Junior High School in 1956, she attended Eyüp High School
and İstanbul High School for Girls for a while (1959). She was an accountant
for a while in Taşkızak Shipyard (1959-1964), until she got married in 1967.
She worked as a proofreader in Varlık (1964-69) and Arkım
(1976-77) publishing houses and as review chief at the ASA Agency and as writer
in Cumhuriyet newspaper (1972-74).
She retired when she was a text writer in Görsel Publishing (1984). She carried
on as a freelance writer with the articles she wrote in Elele review and the European edition of Hürriyet newspaper.
Her first poem appeared in Sanat
Dünyası in 1958. Her other poems have been published in reviews such as, Yeni Ufuklar, Yeditepe, Türk Dili, Varlık,
Türkiye Yazıları, Sanat Emeği. Ocassionaly, her articles appeared in Cumhuriyet (1972-74). She received the
Halil Kocagöz Poetry Award in 1987 with Bu
Resimde Kimler Var (Who is in This Picture).
