Prof. Dr. Murat Özmen, İnönü Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Biyoloji, Genel Biyoloji bünyesinde görev yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları: Yaşam Bilimleri, Biyokimya, Biyokimyasal Toksikoloji, Biyomoleküller, Moleküler Biyokimya, Çevre Biyolojisi.
Lisans (Hacettepe Üniversitesi, 1984) ve doktora (İnönü Üniversitesi, 1993) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "Guthion insektisitinin Microtus canicaudus (Rodentia)'da etkisinin biyobelirteçler kullanılarak araştırılması" (1993).
Akademik kayıtlara göre 105 bilimsel yayını bulunmaktadır; bunların 32'si Web of Science dizinlidir. Uluslararası yayın dizinlerinde 47 yayını kayıtlıdır.
