Prof. Dr. Abbas Güngördü, İnönü Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Biyoloji, Genel Biyoloji bünyesinde görev yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları: Yaşam Bilimleri, Biyokimya, Biyokimyasal Toksikoloji, Çevre Biyolojisi, Çevre Kirliliği, Ekotoksikoloji.
Lisans (İnönü Üniversitesi, 1997), yüksek lisans (İnönü Üniversitesi, 2001) ve doktora (İnönü Üniversitesi, 2007) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "Karakaya Baraj Gölünün Su Kalitesinin Ekotoksikolojik Yaklaşımla Değerlendirilmesi" (2008).
