Lisans (Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, 1998), yüksek lisans (Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, 2000) ve doktora (Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, 2006) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "The Phylogeography and Population Genetics of Three Cave-Dwelling Bat Species in Southeastern Europe and Anatolia" (2006).
