Poet and writer
(b. January 1934, Bayburt - d. 31 August 2007, Ankara). He also used the pen name
Bayburtlu Osman. He finished primary school in Bayburt and high school in
Samsun. He is a graduate of the Academy of Ankara, Economic and Commercial
Studies and Ankara University, Faculty of Education. He completed his master’s
and PhD, “Türkiye’de Eğitim Ekonomisi ve Planlaması” (Educational
Economics and Planning in Turkey) thesis at Ankara University, Faculty of
Education. For a while, he went to the United Kingdom and did research on
hazelnut production technology. He is a member of the Turkish-Hungarian
Friendship Association (founder member), the Turkish Guilds and the
Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey.
He worked as a chief assistant in the
Turkish Republic Ziraat Bank Exchange Office, as an advisor at the State
Planning Organization and as a consultant at the Ministry of Industry and
Technology. He worked at the Tourism Advanced Teachers School as an instructor.
He speaks French and English. He received awards from the Armed Forces and
various symposiums.
He began his literary life by writing essays in 1949. His works were
published in reviews and newspapers such as: Çatı, Türk Sesi, Orkun, Toprak, İstanbul, Zonguldak, Bizim Pınar,
Defne, Aşama, Gül Pınar, Türk Kültürü, Bayburt Postası in the following
years.

Dede Korkut (Land of Dede Korkut, 3 volumes, 1995; 1st volume:
Power of the Oghuz [the ones who settled], 2nd volume: Çini-Maçin
(Manchuria), 3rd volume, 2002; Taht İlbeyliği (Throne Chief of a
tribe).
NOVEL: Suskun Toplum (Quiet Society, 1983).
In addition, he published translations.
