Poet (b. 5 November 1954, Haşallar village, Kardzhali,
Bulgaria). He graduated from Kırcali Construction Technician School, Department
of Geodesy and Cartography (1973) and Anadolu University, Faculty of Business
Administration. He worked in the private sector (1974- 76), at Mudanya
Municipality (1976- 68) and at the Bursa Building and Settlement Directorate
(1978).
His
first poetry and articles were published in the Kırcali newspaper Yeni Hayat in 1972. His later works were
published in local newspapers and reviews such as Oluşum, Sesimiz, Hakimiyet Sanat, Dönemeç, Somut, Edebiyat Cephesi,
Kül, E, Kavram Karmaşa, Virgül, Esinti, Şafak, Tını, Biçem, Yeni Biçem,
Şiirlik, Şiir Ülkesi, Milliyet Sanat, etc.
He
came first at the Yeni Adana Newspaper Poetry Award (1991), and won the Altın
Koza Poetry Award with his poetry file Son
Siren Kuşu (The Last Siren Bird) in 1993. He received the Behçet Aysan
Commemoration Award. He received an honorable mention at the Ordu Art House
Vedat Güler Poetry Award in 1994. He came second at the Ahmed Hamdi Tanpınar
Poetry Award that was held by Osmangazi Municipality in 2002. He was the
assistant editor-in-chief of the review Yeni
Biçem (1993- 99) published in Bursa. He is a member of Balkan Immigrants
Culture and Solidarity Foundation, the Turkish Authors Association and the
Language Society.
