Journalist, researcher, intellectual. He was
born in 1959 at Cukurova village/ Nicosia/ Cyprus. His real name is Mehmet
Kurumanastirli, but he used the pseudonym Mehmet Bahadır in his works. He has completed the primary school education
in his village; and secondary and high school training in Nicosia. His news, articles, stories, and other
research articles were published in Halkın
Sesi newspaper and Ocak journal
in Cyprus; and Bizim Anadolu and Millet Gazete newspapers in Turkey since
1976. He worked as Cyprus representative of Millet
newspaper for a while. He has established the Asya News Agency in Cyprus in
1979 and worked as editor in chief. He has published a newspaper named Kervan, which was part of that agency.
He worked as a freelance journalist between 1982 and1984. He started to work at
Customs Office in 1985, and he stopped writing for a while.
His first article was published in monthly
culture and art journal Ocak (1977);
and his first book named Türk İslâm
Ülküsü was published in 1994 at Nicosia. Within this process, he took part
in several civil society organizations active in the Turkish Republic of
Northern Cyprus and has started to conduct research on Cyprus Issue. He has
worked on these issues and published books. He is the Chair of Cypriot Turkish
Authors' Solidarity Association. He is married with Tansu Kurumanastirli, and
father of two children named Nazim and Feyzi.
