Doç. Dr. Şakir Altınsoy, İstanbul Yeni Yüzyıl Üniversitesi Mühendislik-Mimarlık Fakültesi, Biyomedikal Mühendisliği Bölümü bünyesinde görev yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları: Biyomedikal Mühendisliği, Makina Mühendisliği, Konstrüksiyon ve İmalat.
Yüksek lisans (Gazi Üniversitesi, 2011) ve doktora (İstanbul Üniversitesi, 2018) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "Cu-ni-mo alaşımlı demir toz metal malzemesinin işlenebilirlik performansının incelenmesi" (2018).
Akademik kayıtlara göre 54 bilimsel yayını bulunmaktadır; bunların 13'ü Web of Science dizinlidir.
