Prof. Dr. Murat Kartal, Bezmiâlem Vakıf Üniversitesi Rektörlük bünyesinde görev yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları: Sağlık Bilimleri, Eczacılık, Farmakognozi.
Lisans (Ankara Üniversitesi, 1987), yüksek lisans (Ankara Üniversitesi, 1991) ve doktora (Ankara Üniversitesi, 1997) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "Symphytum sylvaticum Boiss. subsp. sepulcrale (Boiss. and Bal.) Greuter and Burdet var. sepulcrale bitkisinin etkili bileşikleri üzerinde araştırmalar" (1997).
Akademik kayıtlara göre 268 bilimsel yayını bulunmaktadır; bunların 141'i Web of Science dizinlidir. Uluslararası yayın dizinlerinde 16 yayını kayıtlıdır.
