Prof. Dr. İlhan Çelik, Samsun Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi, Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü, Malzeme Anabilim Dalı bünyesinde görev yapmaktadır.
Lisans (Atatürk Üniversitesi, 2007), yüksek lisans (Atatürk Üniversitesi, 2010) ve doktora (Atatürk Üniversitesi, 2014) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "Akımsız Ni-B kaplanmış ve plazma nitrürlenmiş saf titanyumun yapısal, tribolojik ve elektrokimyasal özelliklerinin incelenmesi" (2014).
Akademik kayıtlara göre 56 bilimsel yayını bulunmaktadır; bunların 24'ü Web of Science dizinlidir. Uluslararası yayın dizinlerinde 10 yayını kayıtlıdır.
