Prof. Dr. İbrahim Ortaş, Çukurova Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi, Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme bünyesinde görev yapmaktadır. Çalışma alanları: Tarımsal Bilimler, Ziraat, Toprak ve Bitki Besleme, Toprak Biyolojisi, Bitki Besleme, Topraklı Besleme Uygulamaları.
Lisans (Çukurova Üniversitesi, 1985), yüksek lisans (Çukurova Üniversitesi, 1987) ve doktora (University of Reading, 1994) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "The Effect of Different Forms and Rates of Nitrogen and Different Rates of Phosphorus Fertilizer on Rhizosphere pH and P Uptake in Mycorrhizal and non-Mycorrhizal Sorghum Plants" (1994).
