Lisans (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi, 1985), yüksek lisans (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi, 1988) ve doktora (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi, 1994) eğitimlerini tamamladı. Doktora tezi: "Behaviour of short fatigue cracks in a steel with elongated inclusions" (1994).
